This card shows us a full moon containing a crescent within it. Two identical pillars can also be seen along with the two dogs or wolves, which seem to be howling looking up in the sky. A river or an ocean is also drawn, with a stream flowing to it. A crab or a fish is coming out of the ocean or river water.

Tarot Story

As he was told by the urn maiden, the fool follows the star and travels through the night. And suddenly he realizes that the starry night has turned into a night of full Moon, illuminating for him what lays ahead, a watery path to cross and move ahead. The Fool is not feeling confused, and as he walks a little ahead, he passes through two identical pillars, ancient and odd. And the moment he crosses them, he feels as if he has reached another land entirely.

He now feels as if he has seen this place before. And alas.! Suddenly he realizes that this the same place which was hidden behind the veil, at the back of the throne of the High Priestess. And now, he has finally crossed the veil, just to uncover the dark mysteries. It seemed to him, like a land of poets, artists and crazies. a terrifying place with wolves or dogs howling to the moon, as if worshipping it, and all the other creatures from early days nightmares and dreams from shadows.

Following the path that he was walking on, the Fool realizes that the path comes to a halt and merges with the waters, a river, where he can walk no more. Standing in the moonlit waters, he sees a shore close by, where lays a small boat, but without an oar. The Fool is now left with only two choices, he can either lose himself in this isolated, ancient land of fantasies, or he can get into the boat, and leave himself to the river and surrender to the powers of the moonlight and the nature, which will in any case take him someplace.

Tarot Connotation

The Moon is all about dreams, fantasies and insanity, genius and creativity. And with Pisces as its ruling sun sign, this is a card signifies sleep, with both dreams and nightmares. It is also a card that warns the Seeker of the hidden enemies or lies, but alongside, it is also a card that reminds the Seeker of their creativity, vision, magic and intuition.

Apart from all this, this card warns about a time of emotional and mental trial and being cautious in taking their precautions, medication, avoiding drugs or alcohol or anything out of controlled usage, which may cause them irreparable damage. They should however trust their intuition.

They may undergo bad mood swings, mysterious depressions or hyper modes. But when it comes to art, poetry or music, they create magic. They have two options, either to wander through that crazy landscape, all lost and aimless or get in a boat, trust and reach somewhere.
